Our 4-yr-old class recently enjoyed creating "Big Beautiful Blended Bows" during our "B" week at VCP. First, they used markers to make shapes, lines and blocks of color on their paper towel. Next, each student squirted their colored paper towel with water and watched as it "magically" transformed.
We made comparisons to a butterfly transformations and also to tie-dye designs. Our class learned the meaning of "blend" and other art vocabulary throw this process. When complete and dry, we transformed the papers into big bows, and each student got a chance to wear theirs!
Here are some photos of this fun project! Click any photo to make it larger.
